To wake up every morning and know that today you're going to experience something for the very first time is an ideal I strive for. It's not always attainable but it's always worth trying. That ideal informs everything I do creatively - to try and look at the world through new eyes, to meet real life characters and create fictional ones who stories are compelling and make us imagine a different way of life, and for a short time be part of that life.

I've been fortunate enough in my work and studies to undertake challenges and projects in South America, Israel and Africa as well as closer to home. In recent years my work on film has grown through my time spent in Kenya since 2008. In that time I've come across many unfamiliar places and unpredictable situations. This has taught me to see potential stories all around and understand how to overcome challenges to tell those stories on film in the most authentic and powerful way.
